"The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later"

Rehearsals are currently underway for our production and Manitoba Premiere of “The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later.” Stay tuned for more information about the show! We can’t wait to share this production with you. The show will take place during Winnipeg Pride and will be performed at the Rachel Browne Theatre May 28th - June 1st (7:30pm nightly).

Thank you, 2018!

Hi there, everyone! We just wanted to say a huge thank you to all of the endless support we have received this year. From attending our shows, making donations to causes that we are supporting, coming to our special events, and all of your kind words in regards to our community involvement - THANK YOU!

We cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for us. We are just a few weeks away from starting up rehearsals for the Manitoba Premiere of “The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later” and we were accepted into the 2019 Winnipeg Fringe Festival for Kids Fringe (we cannot wait to bring a show to the stage that youth will be able to enjoy!). Stay tuned for more information and we hope that 2019 brings more love, more kindness and more acceptance for all.

"Favourite Local Performance"

Recently “The Uniter,” the University of Winnipeg’s newspaper, published their 2018 Uniter 30 Edition, featuring the top 30 favourite local people, places & things of 2018 voted by the public. We are overjoyed to announce that we won in the category of “Favourite Local Performance” of 2018 for our production of “The Laramie Project” (May, 2018)! We feel so honoured and truly touched that so many people appreciated our performance and voted for us! We can’t do what we do without the amazing support that we’ve been receiving and we want to say a huge thank you to you, Winnipeg!

BLiNK: Sunday, November 18th

We had the pleasure of volunteering at BLiNK this past Sunday. It was such an incredibly heartwarming afternoon and we were so grateful to spend some quality time with such amazing youth. BLiNK is a program that we sponsored with our donation from “The Laramie Project.” This past Sunday, we led a musical theatre class (Under The Sea theme) along with an all-ages art activity. Paint Night, Popcorn & Play Screening!

We are having a play screening and we are very excited about it!

This October marks exactly 20 years since Matthew Shepard, a 21 year old university student, was murdered for being openly gay in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. Join us Sunday, October 14th at Wee Johnny’s @ 7pm for a one night only screening of Meraki Theatre Production’s “The Laramie Project”! Our production was performed this past May (2018) for Winnipeg Pride and we donated our proceeds to both The Matthew Shepard Foundation and Winnipeg’s local Rainbow Resource Centre’s youth programming!
We will have popcorn available for only $1 AND there will be an art table for painting!

Our paint theme will be “Paint what you think of when you think of love.” ♥️

Suggested donation: $5 (cash only at the door!)
